W17 Copperhead Akasabi

Sale price$355.00
Size:

(Some sizes also available at Withered Fig)

The W17 Copperhead Akasabi is constructed from a 17oz selvedge denim featuring a dark indigo warp paired with a copper-toned sulfur-dyed weft. The face of the fabric feels smooth and almost silky, but the heavyweight yarns provide structure that holds its shape and breaks in gradually over time.

The name Akasabi (赤錆), meaning red rust, refers to the oxidized copper tone of the weft. As the indigo warp yarns fades, these warm rust hues begin to surface, producing golden highlights rather than stark white contrast. The result is a fade profile that feels natural, dimensional, and grounded in vintage workwear tradition.

This denim was selected for wearers who value depth over flash — a cloth that develops character slowly, rewards patience, and grows more nuanced with time.

The Copperhead Akasabi are a unique jean in my line up! The copper dyed weft creates an irresistible allure in this heavy denim that feels lighter than it is. The artistry is in the details to this world class fabric. The Brooklyn Bridge in orange and the signature selvedge. Im doing a Tokyo cuff with these guys and I’m looking forward to a multi-decade story to be written on them. They are my first from Eric, but they won’t my last!

I bought a pair of their ready to ship jeans and I am super happy with them. I also really like supporting a company like this with a very cool story and a one-man show trying to make it. I’ll definitely be keeping this business on my radar and if I ever make it to New York, rest assured I will be visiting.

I can’t say enough good things about this pair of denim. Not only is it a flattering cut that pays homage to Americana, Ivy, and even a touch of western wear, it is made on a beautiful, durable fabric with a depth of color that just isn’t captured in photos.

Simply put, Eric produces the best jeans outside of Japan. Japanese brands are great for slubbydenims and vintage inspired cuts.

Fitted Underground is great for pristine cuts with so many nice little easter eggs and the level of finishing is sublime.

Excellent fit and the copper weft will turn denim heads. They will give about an inch in the waist with wear so size accordingly
