Denim Wedding

June 18, 2016 I married my best friend, and an amazing woman. How amazing? Well...

I had made a pair of D13 Standard Issue jeans for all my groomsmen, a dark indigo selvedge denim from Japan that show the incredible range of denim. If you can wear jeans at a wedding, surely you can wear them anywhere.

But could the groom wear jeans...?

Of course, I had planned to wear tuxedo pants. First and foremost, this was my wife's special day and I wanted it to be just right for her. I wasn't sure that her husband wearing denim down the aisle was something she dreamed about as a kid!

However, when my crew saw me they melted down and insisted that I take off the ill fitting tuxedo pants I had on.and rock my Standard Issue. (Amen for groomsmen!)

But how would Dorothy react?  Would she really want to see bridges on butts on her wedding day? I put the jeans on and made it clear that I had something to show her. The decision was entirely up to her. But when she saw me, there was no hesitation.  "Wear your jeans. Marry me in those," she said.  So I did. 

Our wedding day was the best day of my life, filled with family, friends and great denim. The finer things in life.
