I’m Eric Steffen and I’m the founder and creative lead at FITTED Underground. In 2014 I traded finance for fashion when I couldn’t find jeans that fit. I didn’t know how to sew or design, so I taught myself the trade from the ground up, refining my craft for a decade before hiring my first employee.
That slow build allowed me to develop FITTED without compromising my vision, which is to craft the best made, best fitting jeans in the world. But what’s more important is our unwillingness to compromise our values. Slow fashion, we believe, is a sustainable solution to the current problems in the fashion industry.
When I started FITTED, I received a piece of advice that has stayed with me: Never sacrifice your integrity. We haven’t, and we’re still doing things the right way, committed to our employees, customers and community. Restoring the tradition of great American-made blue jeans – one stitch at a time.
